Lawson Inada Reading 2/9/15, 2pm Reading, KL 355 Oregon Poet Laureate Lawson Inada’s collections of poetry are Before the War: Poems as They Happened (1971); Legends from Camp (1992), winner of the American Book Award; Just Into/Nations (1996); and Drawing the Line (1997), winner of the Oregon Book Award.
Steven Church Reading 3/12/15

Steven Church is the author of The Guinness Book of Me: a Memoir, Theoretical Killings: Essays and Accidents, and The Day After The Day After: My Atomic Angst. His fourth book, a collection of essays titled Ultrasonic was published in Dec 2014.

 

Creative Writing Conference 4/4/15

Soul Vang will be key note speaker as well as workshop leader. Workshops in poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction in the morning, a catered lunch for all participants, and readings in the afternoon. Students will read work completed in the morning, and Soul Vang will read from his new poetry book, To Live Here.

 

Lingo + Vernal Pool Party 4/17/15 12:30-2pm Launch party for the second issue of The Vernal Pool will include a printed folio featuring creative work by UCM undergrads. Submission periods November and April annually.
